Good

We spend a lot of time creating Faithful people and placing them in title positions in our churches and or ministry. We teach this based on the scripture in Matthew 25:21. The scripture says this, ” Well done thy good and faithful servant. You were faithful over a few things, I will put you in charge of many things, enter into the joy of your master. (vs. 19) From this we have told many people, “just be faithful and God will make you a ruler!” Now this can be fair and understandable but we are missing something very important and that is the word, “GOOD!” There is more to this qualification than faithfulness. He said to the servant ” well done thy GOOD..”

The word “good” in the Greek is “Agathos” meaning: of good constitution or nature, useful salutary, good, pleasant agreeable, joyful, upright and honorable. With that being said Jesus is saying, well done thy good natured, pleasant etc and Faithful servant. Being faithful is half of the battle. On my job I received several pay increases and some shout outs for my faithfulness but it was my “good” that landed me the job of the manager when I was tapped out in pay. Due to this it allowed  me to jump to another pay scale and to be a ruler in my area.

We as people have to strive to be good and faithful. We have put a little more emphasis on “GOOD” so that we are not putting terrible faithful people in positions of authority. Be Good and Faithful.

I Found “New” In June

“New” Means:

  1. not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time.
    “new crop varieties”

  2. already existing but seen, experienced, or acquired recently or now for the first time.

This is how webster defines the word “New!” The part of the definition that sticks out to me is, ” Now, for the first time.” As we were in prayer the other week, the Lord began to speak and He said these words, You all are in a new place, a new season, and most of all a New Realm. I knew in my heart  that this is an exciting time, but a time that we have to stay focused. New levels allow us to go higher but in the same place. While being in a new realm changes everything. One must learn to navigate, breath, live, and most of all how to deal with God in a new place. Under an old covenant the sacrifice of  bulls, birds etc was common place. Under a new covenant one sacrifice of the Lamb of God changed all of that. This has allowed us to understand that we are no longer offering anything other than who we are to the Lord in a new place and in a new way.

I love how Paul says to the church in Rome, ( Romans 12:1-2 Msg) ” take your everyday ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead fix your attention on God…” Yes i know the message translation does not offer word for word translation but the meaning is there and you can clearly see what Paul wants them to know.

You are in a new place and this time the sacrifice is you in your every day life.  So hear me with this. You are in a new place. Stay focused on God and allow him to navigate this new place for you. Its new to you but Old to Him. So my prayer for you is that, as you go into your new season submit everything to God and He will show you how to flow in your Realm. Congrats and enjoy the ride.

Ask

May I?

Just a few weeks ago the Lord woke me up and asked me a question. He simply asked, May I? This was a strange question and it made me cogitate on so many things. Once I realized that I needed to simply ask God what He was trying to say, everything began to make sense. The Lord was really asking me, May I help you? May I guide you? May I Father you? May I heal you? May I be your Lord?  So often we claim God to be everything to us but we struggle with letting Him function in the very things we claim him to be. I realized that I have named God a lot of things but I have been struggling with allowing him to be what I named him in my life.  I then began to internalize somethings about my self that maybe you should ask your self.

1. Are you giving God the room to be what you called him to be in your life?

2. Why wont you let go so God can?

3. Is there something that happened to you feel God missed and now your faith has been abused?

4. Are you willing to let God be what you testify of him?

God is asking you right now, “MAY I?”

What will your response be?

MARCH, 2018

Why is God Concerned About Your Movement?

God is the same God yesterday to and forever..(Hebrews 13:8) With Him being the same, He desires for us to change into His desire for us. To remain in a place to long while God is calling for movement could cause you to miss what he has for you. Israel was comfortable in Egypt but God had other plans. What revealed this comfort was that God sent a Savior/ deliverer to them and did amazing things to get them delivered. Once delivered and things did not seem to be going well. Their comfort in Egypt came out in their complaining.  (Exodus 16:3) This state of complaining says to God, “I know You moved me out here but surely You don’t know what Your doing while I’m here because You took better care of me while I was in bondage.” I need to tell you that if God needs movement for you, don’t go back to soon. Your movement could mean food in bondage or freedom in a land flowing of milk and honey that you can call yours.
Your next step will change everything.

Good or bad… There are so many factors that come to play when doing the impossible for God.  Two things for sure, your next step could be the best thing that ever happened to you or the worse thing that happened to you. I want to consider that Elisha had a quick choice to make that changed his life forever. No time for a long period of fasting and praying but simply believing that this was his time. (1 Kings 19) Lets consider that the prophet Elijah come on the scene while Elisha was working the family business (1 Kings19:19)  and Elijah then throws his mantel on him. At that moment Elisha had to make a choice. Stay here in comfort or step out and march Forward. In that instance Elisha Left the oxen and ran after Elijah. We understand that Elisha’s march forward changed his life forever. On the flip side lets consider the young rich ruler ( It appears in the Gospel of Matthew 19:16–30, the Gospel of Mark 10:17–31 and the Gospel of Luke 18:18–30.) The young rich ruler came to Jesus and understanding the scriptures he was fine with them until Jesus tested something outside of what he thought he was safe. Jesus challenged him by saying to him that he does lack in an area. Go and sell all that you have and give it to the poor. You have treasure in heaven. At that moment he had to make a choice and he chose to hold on to what would pass away and not to what was eternal. Often time what God desires for us to let  go, we hold on to it not realizing that what He has for us is greater than what we have. Let Go and take the Leap

Leap for it…

This life is short and can be full of what If’s. I am challenging you this month to let this be a month of Movement. No more standing still but marching in those things of God. This month I challenge you to start making movement on the things you have wanted to do. Let this be the month you start looking for that house you been praying about. Call the bank about your proposal that has been sitting on your kitchen table. Have that meeting with your pastor about being ordained etc. You had a bad experience in a relationship but know the Lord is sending someone in your life. Just maybe in this Month you can choose to trust God and start some Movement. I decree and declare that March will be a month of movement and life changing decisions for the better. Its time to march in March.
